The Name Game

The names have come full circle and we are officially back at the beginning. Right now, this little guy will be named Simon Perry Jorek. No, not Simon from American Idol...it was in the Bible LONG before that. However, it is a nice name and Olaf and I both like it. Is it for sure? No. I don't think any name will be for sure until we come home from the hospital. But for today, we like Simon:)

Losing Weight

I stepped on the scale this morning and lost two pounds. I never thought I'd be worried about losing weight. That means I have gained a total of FOUR pounds in 25 weeks of pregnancy. As long as the baby is healthy, I am NOT going to worry. (I am not going to worry, I am not going to worry...)

25 weeks

I had my glucose test yesterday. That stuff is just awful to drink. It turns my stomach. The midwife listened to my lungs and said I sounded horrible. She gave me some antibiotics to take and I go in next week for a recheck. I have been wheezing when I exhale for about 10 days now (as well as coughing so hard I pee my pants). I sure hope this does the trick. I am so tired of being sick.

No weight gain. Blood pressure was fine. Baby is transverse with a strong heartbeat. I have to say, carrying a transverse baby is a lot more comfy than having their feet stuck in your ribs. I just hope he turns head down when he is supposed to.

Olaf and I celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary on the 23rd. Nineteen years of marriage and only four pregnancies. I truly am blessed because I didn't think we would have any.

24 weeks 2 days

Nothing new to report. I still haven't gained any weight (holding at 6-8 pounds), we still don't have a name, and I am still a hypochondriac convinced that I will not live to see this baby born. My back hurts, my liver/gallbladder hurts, I am coughing up a lung, and I am supposed to think all is well. I do love feeling this little guy move around though. He likes to lie transverse which, literally, tickles me. I feel movement on my right and left sides at the same time. I just cannot wait to see him for the first time.

To Hans or not to Hans...

The girls are coming around to the name Hans. Now I am not so sure that I like it. I hope this baby has a name before he makes his appearance. Camille had a dream that I was in the hospital and still didn't have a name.

We toured Fayette Hospital yesterday. It's a brand new maternity center and it was really nice. The problem is my current OB doesn't deliever there so I have two options; change OB's to one that does deliver there, or, just show up for delivery there and deal with the fact that they don't know me from Eve. The only drawback to changing OB's is the distance. I would have to travel about 45 minutes each way to my appointments, and with four children, that is a pain in the butt-ola. I really would rather deliver at Fayette though. It has a NICU just in case something is wrong with the baby and Newnan does not. Ah, decisions decisions. We are also thinking about cord blood banking. That is expensive, but it could be lifesaving to a sibling.

Babies R Us

Can I just say that Babies R Us is completely and totally overwhelming to an old woman like myself. I went in to register today and was overwhelmed at all the "stuff" a baby can have. It was fun looking though. We bought a new bassinet mattress and another bassinet sheet. We had the original pad that came with the bassinet and it was so flat. The new mattress is much thicker and looks more comfy. It was only $15. I also registered at Target and bought some onesies and pants on clearance there. I think I am pretty much set with a layette now. I need to dig out the receiving blankets and I think that's it.
