Names

Thinking of names...it's hard for us to come up with a boy name. But for now the consensus is Hans Perry Jorek. The children hate it, so we may have to change it. I really like Isaac, Eamon, Luke, and Jude too. Oh, and Otto. I like Otto a lot. So, I guess the jury is still out...poor kid.

I have gained 6 pounds so far. I am 21 weeks 2 days today. I am hoping that I don't gain over 25. I am too fat to have to lose more than that. I try not to look in the mirror when I'm naked. Scarey.

My next OB appointment is my glucose test. I hope all is okay with that. I have never had diabetes before, but I've never been this heavy before either. I wonder if that will affect my ability to metabolize glucose? I have a friend that had her baby today. She is a heavy gal too. She had to take insulin, but her baby was only 6 pounds 8 ounces. She had high blood pressure so they induced her. She ended up with a C-Section.

Need to run. Let me know what name you like best...

Tonight I pulled the bassinet out of the basement. I stripped it (not an easy task) and am washing it right now. It is an older model (1997) and I bought it used from a friend when I was pregnant with Josiah. (I looked for a link so you could see it, but it's too old) It works beautifully until they are three or four months old. It's small enough to put right next to my bed. As an extra special treat there were about 10-15 newborn sized diapers in the storage compartment underneath. Although I plan on using cloth diapers, I want to wait until the cord falls off and all that nasty meconium has worked through his system. The only other thing I know I need before the baby is born is an infant bathtub.

Well.....

He did not want us to see his face, but the boy parts were visible. This little guy covered his face with his hands in every picture except one. Stinker. I am trying to figure out how to get these ultrasound photos downloaded. When I do I will post some.

Tomorrow is the big day!

My ultrasound is scheduled for 3:30 tomorrow afternoon. I just pray the baby is healthy and shows no abnormalities. I haven't felt the baby move much the past three days, so that is worrying me a bit.

I had to bring up some short sleeved maternity shirts today. The weather has been in the 70's and I am just too hot to wear long sleeves. I will need them in March anyway, so up they came from the basement.

I heard the name Eamon on TV today for a boy. It's Celtic. I like it. It's pronounced Amon with a long "a" sound. We'll see. I may not have to worry about boy names after tomorrow.

I will post tomorrow night with the results...

18 weeks 4 days

In one week I go in for my ultrasound to see what this little baby is. Is it a boy (like Camille KNOWS because of her dream) or is it a girl? I cannot wait to find out. How fun. The entire family is coming with me. This will be my first 3-D ultrasound and I am really excited about seeing it.

I am feeling the baby move almost daily. It's little flutters. No big kicks or anything. I don't think I have ever felt a baby move this early in my pregnancy before. It's fun for me.
